On 6 October 2026, the Cabinet approved in principle a draft Royal Decree on tax exemption to support the MICE industry (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions).● What Is the Benefit?
Companies and juristic partnerships can deduct 2 times the actual cost of space rental and service fees for taking part in trade fairs, exhibitions or trade shows held in Thailand.
● Eligible Period
Events must start between 6 October 2026 and 31 December 2027, and payments must be made within the same period.
● Key Conditions
The event must be held in Thailand
You must have a certificate from the event organizer confirming your participation
You must meet any further criteria to be announced by the Director-General of the Revenue Department
● Example Calculation
A company pays THB 50,000 to rent a booth at a trade fair. Normally it can deduct THB 50,000 as an expense, but under this measure it can deduct THB 100,000.
At a corporate income tax rate of 20%, that saves an extra THB 10,000 in tax.
● Why Did the Government Introduce This Measure?
The MICE industry generated THB 338,233 million in economic value and created 304,932 jobs in 2025. The Ministry of Finance expects about 3,800 companies to use the benefit, at an estimated revenue cost of about THB 798 million.
